There will be no felony charges facing Rob Camilletti, Cher’s beau, for his part in a confrontation with a tabloid photographer in June. Camilletti will be charged with reckless driving, a misdemeanor, rather than the felony assault count he originally faced. Camilletti said he lost control of Cher’s Ferrari and crashed into Star tabloid photographer Peter Brandt’s car while swerving into the home’s driveway to avoid other photographers. He has admitted to smashing Brandt’s camera in anger. In a statement released Tuesday, Camilletti said: “I’m very pleased that the city attorney understood that I never tried to hit the tabloid photographer. It’s true that I broke the guy’s camera and telephone after the accident, and I intend to reimburse him for that.” Brandt has filed a civil lawsuit against Cher and Camilletti, seeking unspecified damages.
