Local News in Brief : Fullerton : Author Irving Stone to Speak at University

Author Irving Stone and philosopher L.E. (Lenn) Goodman will be the featured speakers Thursday at the fourth annual faculty lyceum at Cal State Fullerton.
The overall focus of the faculty event will be on “The Educated Person in a Pluralistic Society.”
Stone, author of many best-selling biographical novels, including “The Agony and the Ecstasy,” will speak on “Testing the Educational Process: Challenges and Needs for an Advancing Society.”
Goodman, a philosophy professor at the University of Hawaii, will discuss “What Education Can Be: Educational Institutions and Institutionalization of Education.”
John W. Bedell, professor of sociology and chairman of the Cal State Fullerton Academic Senate, will moderate the question-and-answer session.
