Naviaux Rallies to Win Feature at Los Alamitos
Naviaux outran favorite Sea N Sompin to win Tuesday night’s allowance feature at Los Alamitos Race Course.
Racing at 3-1 odds under rider John Creager, Naviaux came away last from the gate in the 400-yard race, but moved within a nose of the lead at the halfway point. In the final drive, Naviaux edged Sea N Sompin by a head to win in 19.98 seconds.
The winner returned $9.00, $3.20 and $2.40. Sea N Sompin, winner of the Barbara B Handicap this summer, paid $2.40 and $2.20. Ralph Seville rode Sea N Sompin.
King Of The Jungle, with Danny Cardoza aboard, finished third to return $2.80.
Naviaux was making his first appearance on the West Coast after an excellent summer campaign at Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico, where he won the Rainbow Silver Cup and collected more than $71,000 in five appearances.
