Lamar Hunt has agreed to pay $17 million to settle his part of a more than $130-million jury verdict against him and his two brothers in a lawsuit brought by Peru’s Minpeco SA, a lawyer for the mineral marketing firm said. Minpeco had alleged that Lamar Hunt and brothers Nelson Bunker Hunt and W. Herbert Hunt had conspired to corner the world silver market in 1979 and early 1980. Mark Cymrot, a Washington lawyer who represents Minpeco, said a hearing has been scheduled for today in New York for the court to review the agreement.
