Prisoner-Groom Ties (Slip) Knot

LONDON — A prisoner, allowed out of jail for a day to get married, gave his guards the slip after they removed his handcuffs for the wedding pictures.
David Roache, awaiting trial on burglary charges, tied the knot before bolting at the civil ceremony in Warrington in northwest England.
“He asked for the handcuffs to be removed while he posed for wedding photographs, which was considered a reasonable request,” a police spokesman said Thursday.
“Then he ran off, and other members of the family prevented prison officers from catching him.”
Police said Roache fled just as a car pulled to the curb. He jumped in, and it sped away.
