SPOTLIGHT: SEAL BEACH

Location: City of Seal Beach, between San Gabriel River and Anaheim Bay jetty. Description: The mile-long sandy beach is bisected by the Seal Beach Pier, at the foot of Main Street. The pier was damaged extensively in a 1983 storm, but has since been restored. Activities: Surfing, swimming and fishing are popular. Facilities include restrooms and a wheelchair ramp onto the sand. Parking: Fee parking is available at three lots along the beach. Mass transit: OCTD route Nos. 1 and 52. Information: Lifeguard station, (213) 431-3567.
