Angels Get Permission to Talk to Lefebvre
The Angels asked and received permission from the Oakland Athletics to interview third base coach Jim Lefebvre regarding their managerial vacancy, sources close to both clubs said Friday.
Lefebvre, the ex-Dodger who has managed at the triple-A level in addition to coaching in the majors, is expected to meet with Angel executives next week, the sources said.
Jim Fregosi, Gene Mauch and Hal Lanier are also believed to be among the Angel managerial candidates.
