The Puerto Rican singing group Menudo was nearly denuded by 1,500 teeny-bopper fans who swarmed them at a San Antonio, Tex., shopping mall. “The security wasn’t prepared,” said band member Sergio Gonzales, 15, who had his shirt ripped from his body. Ruben Gomez, 15, said a girl tried to pull his boots from his feet and he had to crawl on his belly beneath the stage to escape. “I felt like I was in the army,” Gomez said. Still another Menudo, Rickie Martin, 15, said he thought he was going to lose his ear as the girls grabbed for his earring. Eight people suffered minor injuries and one girl was arrested for disorderly conduct because she wouldn’t let go of one band member. The group plays a concert in San Antonio tonight.
