Local News in Brief : Dodgers Sued Over Lost Wheelchair

Share

A paraplegic whose customized wheelchair was lost at a Sept. 30 baseball game at Dodger Stadium has sued the Los Angeles Dodgers seeking at least $10,000 in damages.

Gordon Page said in his Superior Court suit that he was made immobile after ushers at the Chavez Ravine stadium took his $2,500 wheelchair for safekeeping.

After the game, the usher was unable to find the custom wheelchair and replaced it with a chair that Page says was much heavier and difficult to operate. The Dodgers last week provided Page with still another wheelchair that was similar in design to the original, but “Page must have this new chair modified to meet his body’s specifications,” the lawsuit said.
