Kings Call Up Janecyk, Two Others

Share

Goalie Bob Janecyk, center Hubie McDonough and right winger Bob Kudelski were brought up from the Kings’ American Hockey League affiliate at New Haven, Conn., Wednesday and will make the 6-game, 12-day trip with the Kings, beginning Friday at Winnipeg.

Rollie Melanson, the goalie who started the Kings’ first game and suffered a sprained knee in that game, is not making the trip. In the only game that Melanson has played since the injury, he lost at Calgary, 11-4. Defenseman Tom Laidlaw, who pulled a hamstring a week ago at Edmonton, also will not travel.

To make room on the roster for the players coming up, defenseman Steve Richmond and center Tim Tookey were sent to New Haven.
