Four Santa Ana men were wounded early Sunday during a fight at a party in what police said was a gang-related shooting incident.

The unidentified gunman escaped, police said.

Police Sgt. Collie Provence said arriving officers found three men who had been shot with a handgun “of an unknown caliber.”

Carlos Ortega, 20, and a 17-year-old youth whose name was not released because of his age had each been shot once in the leg, police said. Ruben Marquez, 25, had been shot in the pelvic area, Provence said.

The three men were taken to one or more local hospitals, but police withheld the names of the hospitals.

A fourth victim, Robert Arthur Villasenor, 28, was found by police at a local hospital, where he was being treated for a gunshot wound to his side, Provence said.

Police said all four were in stable condition Sunday.

An investigation into the shootings is continuing.
