And speaking of Bay Area ‘60s (and ‘80s) rockers, John Fogerty continued his musical testimony in U.S. District Court in San Francisco this week, pickin’ and singin’ versions of several of his songs to prove he’s innocent of plagiarism charges brought by his old record label, Fantasy Records. Fantasy attorneys claim Fogerty stole one of his own Creedence Clearwater Revival songs--1970’s “Run Through the Jungle”--for a later solo hit, “Old Man Down the Road,” from 1984’s “Centerfield” album. Fogerty contends the similarities between the songs are part of his composing style.
