Coach Buddy Ryan said he told Philadelphia Eagles safety Wes Hopkins to fake an injury to stop the clock in the final minutes of Sunday’s 27-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Ryan said on his local radio show that he gave the order to Hopkins, who spent the last 2 years coming back from major damage to his left knee, because the Eagles were out of timeouts.
“I told him to go down,” Ryan said. “So he went down and was carried off. It was just great acting. You’ve got to make it look good.”
