The ruling bodies of world sports, meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, adopted a resolution against doping but decided that a broader call for drug testing and penalties needed more work.

The 22nd annual meeting of the General Assembly of International Sports Federations unanimously approved a six-point resolution condemning drugs, and those in attendance pledged to do all they could in the anti-doping fight.

In addition, the group called for sports bodies and governments to work together against drugs and pointed out “the serious threat to fair competition and competitors’ health posed by the use of substances or by practices aimed at artificially enhancing performance.”
