Local News in Brief : 5 School Workers Promoted
Five administrators were promoted to assistant superintendents in the Torrance Unified School District. Officials said the promotions will add about $2,000 a year to the salaries of the administrators, who will receive $71,634 annually, and will bring their titles in line with their responsibilities. The total number of administrators will not change.
Officials promoted by the school board were George Chalekson and Arnold Plank, K-12 administrators; Harvey Oelkers, business manager; Frank Terrell, personnel, and Paul Mackey, special services. The district’s only other assistance superintendent is Gail Wickstrom, who is in charge of educational services.
