Two people have been arrested on suspicion of selling more than a pound of heroin, the San Diego County Narcotics Task Force said Thursday in announcing the end of a three-month investigation.
On Wednesday, the two suspects allegedly delivered an ounce of heroin to the area of 8th Avenue and National Boulevard in National City. They were arrested, and a search was conducted at a house in the 3800 block of 37th Street in San Diego, police said.
At that residence, about 1 pounds of heroin were recovered, along with a small amount of cocaine and a handgun. Police said the heroin had a street value of about $125,000.
Arrested were Juan Gamez, 28, of San Diego, charged with four counts of sales of heroin, and Luis Gamez, 22, of San Diego, charged with one count of sale of heroin and one count of possession for sale.
