A former RTD bus driver, accused of stealing $2,700 worth of parts from the Southern California Rapid Transit District to use in a bus he owned, has been convicted of two counts of receiving stolen property.

Vernon Holloway, 47, of Pasadena was also convicted by a Los Angeles Superior Court jury of one count of conspiracy to receive stolen property. He is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 9.

Holloway’s co-defendant, former RTD Maintenance Supervisor Franklin C. Jack, has been a fugitive since June, 1987. Prosecutors said he helped Holloway steal a $700 air conditioner compressor from a district maintenance yard in April, 1986.
