Taxpayer Asks Where Buck Stops
The implications of Inglewood City Treasurer Wanda Brown’s statements (Times, Oct. 23) that many events are benefits for worthwhile causes and she feels justified in charging them to the taxpayers are mind-boggling.
Does this mean I, as a taxpayer, am able to use the city treasurer’s contribution to political causes as political and/or charitable deductions on my income tax, or would it be more proper to charge my donations to United Way and other “worthwhile causes” to the city of Inglewood and her taxpayers?
