American Ecology Loses $560,000 in 3rd Quarter
American Ecology lost $560,000 in the third quarter that ended Sept. 30, compared to a profit of $2 million, or 67 cents a share, a year earlier.
Revenue for the Calabasas waste disposal firm dropped 31% to $9.9 million from $14.4 million a year earlier. Revenue from low-level radioactive waste disposal fell $2.1 million, with chemical revenue falling $2.3 million.
For the first 9 months, the company posted a loss of $2.5 million, compared to a profit of $2.5 million, or 84 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue dropped 21% to $29 million from $36.6 million.
