Local News in Brief : Teen Allegedly Killed Over a Drug Debt

Share

Two suspected members of a drug ring went to the Pomona home of a teen-ager who owed them money and fatally shot him in his living room two blocks away from the city’s police station, authorities said Thursday.

“There was nothing said about the debt. They just went through the door and shot him,” Detective Steve Straus said.

Pedro Leos, 18, allegedly owed a drug dealer “several hundred dollars” for marijuana and cocaine given to him to sell, Straus said.

After the two men went to Leos’ home about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday and knocked on the front door, one of them shot the teen-ager several times with a pistol when he answered, Straus said.

Leos’ mother cared for her wounded son while his cousin ran to the police station and reported the shooting, Straus said. Paramedics took Leos to Pomona Valley Community Hospital, where he died a short time later.
