The Aga Khan Foundation U.S.A. is holding a Family Fair in the main hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 S. Figueroa St., today from 10:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Established in 1967, the foundation is part of an international network of philanthropic organizations sponsored by the Aga Khan, leader of the world’s 15 million Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims.

The network currently operates about 500 educational and health facilities and rural development programs for people of all races, religions and national origins in the developing world.

The fair, called Faces of Development, is designed to inform the community about the work of the foundation as an international social development agency. It will include introductory remarks, an address by Henry Norman, president of the Volunteers in Technical Assistance, exhibits, video presentations and speakers. A special room will feature puppets and skits for children. Indian snacks will be for sale.
