U2 Temptations

Hilburn’s latest Burning Issue is yet another example of the emperor who has no clothes.

How is it that U2, perhaps the most boring band of the ‘80s, sees fit to claim “rock’s most prized legacy”?

And by the way, since when is a rock band’s position on apartheid relevant to musical considerations? Is it because today’s Top 40 charts are so devoid of real talent that mediocrity and fashionable politics rule by default?

If so, then lax reviewers like Hilburn must be blamed for encouraging such nonsense. Let’s face it, Bob, Springsteen is no Elvis and U2 can’t hold a candle to the Beatles.
