Rubberneck Drivers
Rob Matson’s letter (Nov. 20) concerning rubbernecking motorists and freeway tie-ups hits the nail on the head. I am on the road much of the time, and I agree that of all the various problems we confront, rubbernecking should be one that traffic agencies can and should work on.
To Matson’s suggestion I would add two:
* Caltrans and law enforcement must make a serious effort to move traffic through or around an accident scene.
* Caltrans should do a better job of forewarning and channeling traffic when freeway work is being done.
The motto should be “Keep them moving!”
