The Search for Remedies to Problems of Growth

Have we lost sight of the forest for the trees? Our freeways are overcrowded, our landfills are nearing capacity, our water is in short supply, our courts and jails are beyond capacity and our overall quality of life is decreasing. However, these are the effects, not the cause.
The most obvious problem in Orange County is ineffective and inefficient growth management. We need to operate Orange County like a well-managed business. Let’s stop evading the issue. We need managed growth and we need it now. Let’s stop treating the effects and address the cause. Maybe we need to repeat our lesson in Management 101.
