William Guinn Freemon, 70, a retired newspaper editor. Born in Ft. Smith, Ark., Freemon was city editor of the Oklahoma City Times, travel and entertainment editor and later executive editor of the San Gabriel Valley Tribune and the Whittier Daily News. He retired in 1984 and moved from West Covina to Redding, Calif. He was president of the Press Club of Southern California, president of Sigma Delta Chi Professional Journalism Society, a member of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, and was West Covina Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year in 1981. Tuesday in Redding.
