A woman and her child were stabbed to death in an apparent murder-suicide Tuesday night at their home in Mira Mesa, police said.

The woman’s husband, who also was stabbed, fled the house, police said.

Police were called to the residence about 7 p.m. after the woman barricaded herself inside the home on Dalby Street, police said.

After surrounding the house, officers eventually entered and found the woman and child dead, authorities said. The husband was later taken by helicopter to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition.

No identification on the victims was available late Tuesday night.
