‘Way Out of Step in Orange County’
The outrage over the use of GOP polling “guards” in Orange County should serve as a reminder to all Latinos about the dangers of becoming a Republican.
First, you’ll get a full stomach, forget where you came from and act like any other Orange County conservative. Second, you’ll become window dressing for Republican administrations which fight equal opportunity and civil rights for Latinos. Third, as long as you vote Republican, Bush will appear at your tortilla-making contests and President Reagan will assure you that Latinos and Republicans share many of the same values.
