Florida State’s Deion Sanders is among 10 finalists, including USC’s Mark Carrier and UCLA’s Darryl Henley, announced for the Jim Thorpe Award, which goes to the top defensive back in college football.
The other finalists are safety Steve Atwater of Arkansas, safety Marc Foster of Purdue, cornerback Johnny Jackson of Houston, safety Louis Oliver of Florida, safety Markus Paul of Syracuse, cornerback Rodney Rice of Brigham Young and cornerback Donnell Woolford of Clemson.
