‘Bird’ Shot

When “Bird” opened in Montclair on Nov. 18, I took the afternoon off to see the first show. I arrived promptly at 1, but the cashier announced that someone had “accidentally” started the film half an hour early. So, my options were (a) go in now and miss the first 30 minutes or (b) come back at 4. Conclusions?
Thirty-three years after his death, Bird is still not showing up on time.
He is still not receiving the respect he deserves. I mean, can you imagine this happening to “Amadeus”?
