Local News in Brief : San Diego
Susan Davis was elected president of the San Diego Unified School District Board of Education Tuesday. Jim Roache was elected vice president of the five-member board.
Davis was sworn in for her second four-year term along with new members Ann Armstrong and Shirley Weber, who were elected in November.
The elections for board positions were held Tuesday because the terms of both Dorothy Smith and John Witt, who held the posts, ended Tuesday with the seating of Armstrong and Weber. The board will again vote on its officers Jan. 14 during its annual organization meeting, but Davis and Roache are expected to again be selected.
