Local News in Brief : Hiker Finds Man’s Body in Newhall
A hiker walking near the Sierra Highway in Newhall on Saturday found the body of a man near the Beales Cut Monument, about 100 yards north of the road.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives said the dead man, whose identity was unknown, died of a blow to the head. He was described as white, about 40 years old, stocky and 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He was wearing a light blue shirt and light blue jeans.
Officials ask that anyone with information on the man’s identity call the Sheriff’s Department.
