In Brief : Packers Cut Kicker Dean Dorsey
The Green Bay Packers cut their third place-kicker this season today when they released Dean Dorsey.
Dorsey, who missed an extra point in Sunday’s 18-6 victory over Minnesota, was 1 of 3 on field goals and 3 of 4 on extra points when he was released after three games.
The Packers also have cut Max Zendejas and Dale Dawson this season and today gave a tryout to Willie Beecher, a former Utah State kicker who kicked for the Miami Dolphin strike replacement team last season.
Dorsey, who kicked for the Philadelphia Eagles for three weeks earlier this season, also has kicked with Ottawa and Toronto of the Canadian Football League.
His extra-point miss Sunday against the Vikings was his first in 144 NFL and CFL attempts.
