Baby Items Needed After Blaze

Diapers, baby formula, and furniture are among the items most needed by victims of last week’s fire in Baldwin Park, which gutted 14 homes and damaged four others, said a resident who is collecting and distributing donations.

Of the more than 140 people whose homes were destroyed or damaged by the fire, approximately 72 are children, said Janet Roca, who has turned her home on California Avenue into an information center for fire victims.

The total includes at least four infants, 3 months and younger, who need diapers and formulas, said Roca. Specifically, Enfamil with iron and SMA baby formulas are needed, she said.

As fire victims find temporary housing, they also need sheets, blankets, kitchen utensils, toiletries and furniture, she said.

Donations can be left at Roca’s home at 14637 California Ave. For more information, call (818) 338-4038.
