Local News in Brief : Garden Grove : 12-Year-Old Girl Dies After Darting Into Car
A 12-year-old Anaheim girl who was struck by a car when she ran into a street has died, Garden Grove police reported Wednesday.
The child, Tricia Marie Wilson, was injured Sunday at about 8:15 p.m., Lt. John Woods said. She ran across Buaro Street near Chapman Avenue and into the path of a car.
“The driver was unable to stop in time to avoid striking the child,” Woods said. “A preliminary investigation has thus far found no negligence on the part of the driver.”
The girl was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, where she died, Woods said.
