College Roundup : UC Irvine Women Lose to Las Vegas

Pauline Jordan and DeNise Ballenger scored 14 points each as Nevada Las Vegas defeated UC Irvine, 74-45, in the Big West Conference women’s basketball opener for both teams Thursday in Las Vegas.
Natasha Parks scored 14 points for Irvine, which trailed, 31-29, at halftime. Las Vegas (6-0, 1-0 in Big West play) outscored Irvine, 43-16, in the second half. Irvine is 2-3, 0-1.
In women’s nonconference basketball:
Christ College Irvine 75, Michigan Concordia 58--Leslie Reinicke, a 6-foot 1-inch center, scored 21 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead host Christ College Irvine (3-8).
