Suns’ Dean Garrett to Have More Surgery
Phoenix Suns rookie forward Dean Garrett, out all season with a fractured right foot, will undergo surgery again, the team announced Thursday.
Garrett, the Suns’ second-round draft pick this year from Indiana, attended San Clemente High School. He was first injured when another player stepped on his foot last August during a off-season camp drill.
Garrett, 6-feet 9-inches and 220 pounds, had a cast on his foot removed 2 weeks ago and started running.
Garrett’s foot started hurting, was X-rayed again and the fracture line reappeared, Suns spokesman Barry Ringel said.
Ringel said Garrett will undergo surgery soon with doctors doing a bone graft and inserting a screw in the ailing foot. Garrett is expected to remain on the injured list for the rest of the season.
