Rams Place Mike Guman on Waivers but Hope to Recall Him for Sunday

The Rams placed fullback Mike Guman on procedural waivers Friday with the hope of recalling him for Sunday night’s game against the 49ers in San Francisco.

The team can reclaim the 30-year-old Guman after 1 p.m. today if no other team puts in a claim.

Guman has been on injured reserve since Aug. 29, after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. The Rams had to expose Guman to waivers because they had used their two free roster moves for players placed on injured reserve before the season.

“Unless someone is out to get the Rams, I doubt if anyone would take me,” Guman said Friday. “I’m not going to worry about it.”

The Rams, remember, snatched tight end Eric Sievers off the waiver wire two weeks ago when San Diego tried to bring him back off injured reserve.

“If they were ticked off because we took Sievers, you never know,” Guman said of the Chargers.

The Rams need Guman because of the turf toe injury to rookie Robert Delpino, who is now doubtful for the 49er game.
