Local News in Brief : Man Attacked, Killed on Street in Pacoima

A 26-year-old Sun Valley man was attacked and killed Sunday morning as he walked along a Pacoima street, authorities said.
Freddie Ruiz was pronounced dead at Pacifica Hospital soon after the 2 a.m. incident on the 10900 block of Lehigh Avenue, said Sgt. Bruce Cowan of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division.
Ruiz was walking alone when he was accosted by a group of unidentified males, Cowan said. An fight ensued, during which Ruiz suffered several injuries, including stab wounds, police said.
No suspects were in custody Sunday.
