Cerritos : Smoking Ban Reviewed
The Cerritos City Council has postponed action on a smoking ban in city-owned facilities, pending a review by city staff members on whether the ban should include private offices and areas where employees gather.
Mayor Barry A. Rabbitt also requested that the staff check whether certain employees must be informed of the proposed ban.
The resolution will reappear on the council agenda early next year, said Michele Ogle, city spokeswoman.
If the resolution is approved, smoking will be prohibited in the City Hall, library, community centers, swim center, golf course pro shop and restaurant, and the yet-to-be-built Community Arts Center.
