A former high school vice principal in Sacramento has been acquitted of charges he had sex with a 17-year-old girl. A Superior Court jury deliberated for four hours before acquitting David DuVal, 40, former vice principal and dean of students at Hiram Johnson High School, of two counts of sex with a minor. Three similar counts involving another former student are still pending. Prosecutor Janice Hayes said the district attorney’s office will have to decide whether to pursue those charges. The alleged victim, now 22, said she had intercourse and engaged in other acts with DuVal during a visit to his home in early 1984. DuVal had denied the accusations.
