Local News in Brief : Pacoima Man Arrested in Fatal Car Accident
A 33-year-old man was in jail Monday after being arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and drunk driving in connection with an automobile accident in Pacoima that killed a man, authorities said.
Issac Johnson of Pacoima was arrested Sunday shortly after he ran a stop sign at the intersection of Bernadette Street and DeHaven Avenue, and his car collided with a car driven by the victim, said Officer Dennis Smith of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
Johnson was driving east on Bernadette Street, and the victim was driving south on DeHaven Avenue, Smith said.
The dead man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, Smith said.
Johnson is being held without bail at Van Nuys Jail, Smith said.
