REAL ESTATE : Casa del Sol, Versailles on the Lake Apartment Complexes Change Hands

Two big apartment complexes in the county recently changed hands: Casa del Sol in Huntington Beach and Versailles on the Lake in Santa Ana.

Casa del Sol, with 448 luxury apartments, went for $35 million to an Orange County investor. The seller was Matteson Investment Corp., a developer and real estate investor in Menlo Park. The complex includes 10 apartment buildings totaling 384,000 square feet on 18 acres on Brookhurst Street.

Matteson also sold Versailles on the Lake, with 364 upscale apartments, for $34.6 million to GBW Properties in Los Angeles, another developer and investor. That project includes 14 buildings of 311,000 square feet on 16.5 acres around a man-made lake.

Pacific Midwest Mortgage’s Newport Beach office arranged financing for the purchase of Casa del Sol and represented GBW in its acquisition of Versailles on the Lake.
