Local : Undercover Narcotics Car Stolen
A car used in undercover Los Angeles police narcotics operations was stolen from Chinatown, where an officer had parked it, leaving his department-issued 9-millimeter pistol, another gun and his badge inside, police said today.
The officer, who was not identified, left the unmarked 1985 white Toyota at at a corner about 6:45 p.m. Thursday while he took a dinner break and “had a meeting” about a narcotics case, said Officer Bill Frio, a Police Department spokesman. The car was gone when the officer returned at 9 p.m., Frio said.
