SportScope : Loyola Women Cagers Hit Long Road With Winning Mark
The Loyola Marymount women’s basketball team plays the first of six straight road games Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Weber State in Ogden, Utah. The Lions improved their record to 6-3 Wednesday with a 55-53 overtime victory over George Washington University at home. The Lions face Metropolitan State of Colorado in Denver on Thursday.
The third annual Baseball Injury Prevention and Treatment Techniques seminar will be held Jan. 13 and 14 at the Radisson Plaza hotel in Manhattan Beach. The seminar, sponsored by the Major League Baseball Physicians Assn. and the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers, will be chaired by Dr. Lewis Yocum of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Inglewood and physician for the California Angels and Dr. Arthur Pappas, physician for the Boston Red Sox.
The seminar is designed for trainers, therapists, coaches and team doctors. Topics include injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, biomechanics, substance abuse and legal implications for trainers. For information, call 674-5200, Ext. 260.
