Boy Dies, Girl Hurt in Hit-Run Accident
A 6-year-old boy was killed and a 5-year-old girl critically injured Sunday afternoon by a hit-and-run driver whose car dragged them for nearly a half-block in Long Beach, police said.
So Den Tang was killed and Anika Elk was in critical condition after the driver’s older-model Lincoln Continental struck them as they crossed Alamitos Street at 17th Street about 3:30 p.m., Long Beach Police Lt. Craig Jacobs said.
“He just kept on going after dragging them under his car,” Jacobs said.
The two children were taken to St. Mary Medical Center, where the boy died a short time later, he said.
