RAISES FOR CITY DEPARTMENT HEADS

Pay raises of 4% for “satisfactory,” 6% for “fully satisfactory” and 7% for “superior” job performance were approved Wednesday by the Los Angeles City Council for city department heads. The raises, which are retroactive to July 1, 1988, will cost taxpayers about $200,000.
