Forward Roy Tarpley of the Dallas Mavericks was suspended indefinitely without pay after telling team officials that he wished to seek further help from substance-abuse counselors for a continuing problem.
Tarpley, 24, left the team to return to the ASAP treatment center in Van Nuys.
