IN BRIEF : Frigid Football Playoffs on Tap
Sites of the AFC and NFC football playoffs will be chilly ones Sunday.
In Chicago, snow flurries and temperatures in the 20s--but no fog--are forecast for Sunday’s NFC championship game between the Chicago Bears and the San Francisco 49ers. Forecaster Len Whitcomb saw little chance of a repeat of the dense fog that obscured play at Soldier Field last weekend when the Bears defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 20-12.
At Cincinnati’s Riverfront Stadium, temperatures should be around 40 degrees with westerly winds gusting at up to 25 m.p.h. for the AFC championship game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills, the National Weather Service said.
There are chances of showers or snow flurries in the area, but the most likely prospects are for dry weather most of the day, forecasters said.
The winners of Sunday’s games advance to the Super Bowl on Jan. 22 in Miami.
