Local News in Brief : Anaheim : Pedestrian Struck, Killed While Crossing Street

A 46-year-old man was struck and killed as he was crossing at an intersection of South Beach Boulevard in Anaheim, authorities said Friday.
Larry Pughlaska Mandrell of Anaheim was hit at 7:24 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of South Beach by a southbound Mitsubishi Mirage, Anaheim Police Sgt. Frank Van De Weerd said.
Mandrell, who suffered massive head and chest injuries, was pronounced dead at 10:30 p.m. at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
The driver of the Mirage was not cited, but an investigation is continuing, Van De Weerd said.
