Synagogue Seeks Sweaters, Blankets

In an effort to offer some protection against winter cold for homeless people and those living in substandard housing, the Social Action Committee of Congregation B’nai Israel in Tustin is sponsoring a sweater and blanket drive this month.

In addition to proceeds being donated to the United States Mission in Los Angeles, sweaters, jackets and blankets in all sizes are being collected at the synagogue, 655 S. B St., Tustin. For information, call (714) 730-9693.

A 6-week structured group experience will be offered for engaged or married Jewish-Christian couples beginning Jan. 18 at 7 Laguna Woods Drive, Laguna Niguel. The program is designed to help interfaith married couples in clarifying their knowledge and values regarding religious beliefs and to develop practical plans for dealing with in-laws, children’s educations, rituals and holiday celebration.
